A tidegenic system is a system in which the system member count increases over the course of several months or years, before collapsing to a much smaller number, either suddenly or also through the course of several months or years, through either mass fusion or mass dormancy. It is different from similar terms in that this collapse does not turn the system into an empty system or singlet.
