Travel barriers are barriers within a headspace that prevent members from accessing certain layers, sectors, locations, or the headspace in general.

Headspace access and layer access may be managed through travel barriers.

Gatekeepers, doorkeepers, ferrymen, system travelers, and floaters may be able to circumvent travel barriers. Gatekeepers and doorkeepers may additionally be able to manipulate barriers and open or close them.

A force field is a perceptual barrier that can distord perceptions, which may prevent a system member to access a specific place by heavily blurring it and/or making its path very confusing, often for protection purposes.
